Food Storage

To follow the prophet's counsel to get out of debt and have food storage, dad and I went to the cannery and canned 1,709 pounds of wheat. That is 49 cases of 6 #10 cans. Don't we look cute in our hair nets.

You fill a can with wheat, put in a packet of air stuff, put on a lid and then onto the machine which spins the can while sealing the lid. The wheat is proven to last 30 years if stored this way. That should get us through our life time. We will leave it in a will to the rest of you guys if not used by then.

Just to have fun, Nancy left the lid off one of the cans when putting on the sealing machine. You should see the wheat fly through the cannery. However, it really slows down the process when you have to stop and clean it all up. Did make us laugh though.

Yes we did get all the boxes into the car but we did meet the limit.

Joe & His Tools

Dad always has to have a project. Because he collects soooo muuuuuch stuuuuuffffff, he needed new shelves in the garage. He was enfringing on my little territory where the car goes. Here is a picture of the new shelves. He tested the weight by climbing up there with Aiden. When Aiden came over and saw all of grandpa's tools out he said, "Grandpa, let's go in the garage and build stuff". So off they went to finish the shelves.

Laura & Lindsey Update

Laura and Lindsey have had a very busy couple months. Lindsey went to our schools Junior Prom in March.

LIndsey being asked. Each balloon had glitter and some had a letter. She had to find all the letters and put them together to see who asked her. It made a big glitter mess.

Picture of Lindsey with her Date Evan, Lindsey and alone and Laura and Lindsey. Laura wasn't asked but went with a group of friends and had fun.

Laura went to Kearns Jr. Prom last week. Picture of Lindsey helping Laura get ready..

Laura and her date Victor.

Laura trying to fit her and her dress into the car! I didn't get to see what it looked like with the other girl got in with her. I'm sure all Victor saw in the rear view mirror was a bunch of dress!

They had their dance company concert for 3 days in April and left the next day to California for a Dance company trip.

This video is of Laura. She is 4th from the left. She has a short solo at the end.

Their finale dance was cool. Both Laura and Lindsey are tree frogs but I can't get the video to download.

The day after they came home from California they had tryouts for next year's Dance Company. Yea - they both made it. Also, they have both been elected as officers in next year's Dance Company. Laura will be Historian and Lindsey will be Social Rep. The Seniors on Dance company came and woke them up early in the morning to let them know they made it. they went to breakfast and had to go to school with their crowns and not ready for the day - embarrassing when you are a teenager. However, Laura and Lindsey loved it!

Laura
Hope I'm doing this right. Dad turned over the postings to me - who would have guessed. He is a better writer than I am. Yes Adam you received your writing skills from your dad!.

Updates from the last month. Dad and I spent a week in San Diego and Los Angeles. Dad had a convention in San Diego. We went a few days early and spent time in Los Angeles with my brother. We went to the Santa Monica Pier.

Here is a picture of Dad braving the cold ocean.

The weather was perfect but the water was still cold. He was mad that I wouldn't get in the water but I pointed out to him the number of people enjoying the warmth of the beach compared to the few dummies in the water. I sat with the smarter ones and read about Edward the Vampire and Bella wanting to be a vampire (the Eclipse series in case you didn't know).

We went to Six flags. Here is a picture some of the roller coasters of where we parked the car.

Dad wouldn't let me bring my bag and camera. It was a good thing because we would have had to rent a locker at each ride to lock it up in. This Six Flags has mainly roller coasters. Pretty fun ones. However, a word of advice. When your stomach says I've had enough of roller coasters, you had better listen. Going on one more is a major mistake unless you want to embarrass yourself and those around you by losing your lunch. I speak from experience! by the way, they strap you in so tight that you can't lean forward when you stomach says its had enough - sure makes a mess of your clothes.

All in all we had fun!
