Lava Hot Springs!

Cute of Savannah eating her hot Chocolate
Dad, Jon & Kimberly

I tried to get all 3 to look at me for a picture. They were so glued to the TV that none of them even heard me. Like Grandpa like Granddaughters.

Rexburg, Idaho Temple

Laura, Jessica & Lindsey being weird at McDonald's as we started our trip

Our family tradition of going to Lava Hot Springs is dwindling!! We had fun and wished you could have all come and enjoyed the hot water with us. It was a perfect night. Dad and I drove up with Laura, Lindsey and their friend, Jessica, early on Friday. We went to Rexburg, Idaho so they could see the BYU Idaho campus. It was freezing cold and the campus was closed but we got to drive around and look anyway.

We then went on to Lava Hot Springs where Jonathan and Kimberly met us with Ellie and Savannah. We met in the usualy restaurant - the Wagon Wheel. It took 1 hour to get our food after we ordered - we didn't go back for breakfast. Jonathan and Kimberly walked in with Ellie & Savannah and dropped them off at our end of the table and said "they are all yours, we are done until its time to go home" and then they proceeded to the far end of the table.

Ellie and Savannah had fun. They were done in the hot pools after about 1 1/2 hours but we stayed about another 1/2 hour. Even dad was done. He usually wants to stay until they close no matter how tired he is just to get his money's worth.

We went back to the motel and ate junk food while Jonathan and Kimberly showed us the pictures they took of Teri and Mitch for their wedding announcements. They did a great job with lots of good pictures. Finally we sacked out and went to bed.

After breakfast, Jonathan and Kimberly took Ellie and Savannah with them because we took the scenic drive to Logan so Laura and Lindsey could see the campus of Utah State University. They were open and we spent some time in the book store and driving around campus.

By the way. When we got home we received notice that both Laura and Lindsey were accepted to BYU Idaho. Still waiting for response from BYU Provo and they are busy filling out other applications.

Thanks so much for inviting us to Lava it was a lot of fun! And a big CONGRATS to the girls! That's so exciting. They will do great things.

PS - I just looked at our Christmas blog - I know, I'm a slacker - anyway, if you go to the picture of me helping Ava open a present and magnify it, you will see what Santa got ME for Christmas (I can't believe Mom didn't mention this). It is an 18" tall TALKING Jar Jar Binks doll. I couldn't have been happier! (With the possible exception of receiving that Porsche I mentioned ever so casually.) XO, Dad
